Das Format "Soundscapes" in der Linzer KAPU, das sich ganz
der experimentellen Seite der Musik widmet, wird nach
längerer Pause wieder weiterbelebt. Die ursprünglich vom
ehemaligen Kapu-Geschäftsführer Richie Herbst gestartete Reihe
setzen nun die beiden Soundkünstler und Musiker Enrique Tomás
und Clemens Pichler in Zusammenarbeit mit der KAPU fort.

In dieser Sendung zu hören ist ein Live-Mitschnitt des Konzertes
von Kent Clelland vom 24.03.2011. Clelland gilt seit den 90er Jahren
als Pionier der internationalen Live-Laptop-Szene. Er wird nicht nur
als Softwareentwickler (u.a.für Native Instruments) von Produzenten
und Komponisten geschätzt,sondern hat sich auch mit zahlreichen
elektro-akustischen Musikexperimenten im Experimentalstudio Freiburg
(Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Boulez,...) einen Namen gemacht.

Im Interview erzählt er von der kalifornischen Lärmverschmutzung,
von wilden Berliner Technonächten und dem Glockensound des
Freiburger Münsters, der ihn zu einer akustischen Arbeit inspiriert hat.

"The Endangered Guitar is a journey through the land of unending sonic operations, a true hybrid interactive instrument between a guitar and a computer. Fascinated by the wide range of electronic music developed in the 20th Century, I got frustrated by the limited possibilities of electric guitar pedals. I'm interested in the relation between multiple sounds, placing them in order or juxtaposing them to create a sonic progression. This led me to explore the concept of mechanical guitar preparations, combined with a software that "listens" to me, constantly analyzes my playing, to then determine the parameters of the live sound processing - and surprises me once in a while.
